Hope the whale is live in Vancouver all week long to help your voice get heard, amplify your message and share content and messaging against the proposed Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipeline Project.

As the Enbridge Joint Review Panel sits to hear oral statements from the public in Vancouver this week, Hope the whale will sit in Nelson Park and project messages of hope and a vision of a health future.

Hope is a 25 foot interactive, multimedia whale sculpture. Hope is part of a digital/real world ecology of interactions between blogs, tweets, news coverage, Facebook posts, pictures, video and messages written out in sharpies.

Send your messages and photos to Hope and see what hope has to say here.

My name is jeri and I live on Prince of Wales Island just North of Haida Gwaii. We recently got the DVD of Spirit Bear when bringing our sailboat up the inside passage in August 2012, at Shearwater.
The awareness level for Southeast Alaska residents as to this issue needs to raised. I have done quite of bit to get this information to key people in the Native communities and other community people, here in Southern Southeast Alaska, as this affects all who live in this incrediable coastal community.
We also have Haida here that settled many years ago from Haida Gwaii. One of the elders who is very knowledgable of these waters spoke of the Celestial Reef off Haida Gwaii that in years past also had a large oil spill by a ship. There is no question Oil Tankers do not belong in these precious waters period.
